We are delighted to welcome India’s youngest Windsurfing Champion, Naavya Kaku. Growing up in city of towering skyscrapers and buzzing streets, Naavya’s only dream was to be one with the Ocean.
At the young age of 11, competing in the under-19 category of the All India Windsurfing & Kiteboarding Championship, she finished by clinching victory in all three races of her class - a phenomenal feat for someone so young.
Naavya’s love affair with the ocean began at the age of 8 in Aquasail, a sailing club in Goa offering introductory lessons in sailing, kayaking and Windsurfing.
Despite the challenges of limited training facilities in Mumbai, Naavya’s dedication to the sport has been unwavering. She has embraced every opportunity to improve, showing exceptional focus and resilience.
Naavya’s achievements are even more inspiring given Mumbai’s distance from Wind Surfing facilities. Her natural talent combined with acute discipline lines up the medals for her.
Beyond the ocean, Naavya is a bright and diligent student at The J.B. Petit High School for Girls, South Mumbai. Just like balancing her strength on windsurfer, she has also made sure her academic responsibilities are taken seriously.
The National championships are a mere stepping stone to her unfinished story. Her dream is to represent our country at the Olympics, bringing home an Olympic medal for India. Her journey in a phrase is, ‘Hard work beats talent.‘
Recognising her exceptional potential, The Mansons Foundation is extremely proud and delighted to sponsor Naavya’s journey forward. We are dedicated to supporting her dreams as our own, providing her with the resources and encouragement she needs to excel. Through our partnership, we aim to empower Naavya to break new barriers and inspire countless other young athletes across the country to follow in her footsteps. We believe that her talent is one of its kind.
With the sound of waves, comes the cheers of India! May you always be first to the mark Naavya.
